About Yeadon Town Hall CIC

Yeadon Town Hall is now run by the local community, for the wider community.

About Yeadon Town Hall CIC

Yeadon Town Hall CIC is a 'Community Interest Company' first formed in 2017. The group is spearheaded by a group of people passionate about Yeadon Town Hall, its heritage and the community it serves.

Following months of meetings and the proposal of a full business plan and management strategy, the Community Asset Transfer of Yeadon Town Hall was approved in November 2018. From 1st April 2019, Yeadon Town Hall CIC officially took over the management of the building on a 50 year lease.

The purpose of the company is to:

  • Promote cultural excellence

  • Manage the building in a sustainable way

  • Take responsibility for, improve and maintain the entire building. Read more about our Restoration 2020 project

  • Serve the community of Yeadon and beyond by offering a range of events, theatre, creative arts, cinema, live music events and much more

The Board

Yeadon Town Hall CIC is managed by a small board of local residents who have had an association with Yeadon Town Hall for many years. They all provide their own unique ideas and influence to the board and contribute to the running of Yeadon Town Hall through their experience.

The CIC board consists of the following members:

Graham Smith  (Chairman)

Catherine Moglia  (Secretary

Jamie Hudson (CEO)

Jenny Thakur (Chairman of the Yeadon Town Hall Users Group)

Cllr. Ryk Downes (Leeds City Council representative)

We are very grateful for the financial support and advice of Key Fund, a social enterprise investment company and in particular the Graham & Diane Smith Charitable Trust.

We are indebted to have Graham Smith on our board who adds a considerable wealth of knowledge to the CIC on a daily basis.

Leeds City Council Heritage Fund has also made a significant contribution to enable us to carry out restoration of the building's exterior. Of course, our main support continually comes from our community and we are continuously grateful for the ongoing support we receive from local individuals, organisations and businesses.

During COVID-19, we were very grateful to the Arts Council for awarding us an emergency grant, which kept our organisation open during difficult times.

Our Town Hall greatly relies on the many volunteers that help our organisation on a weekly basis to operate. We work with over 100 regular volunteers and over 500 people attend regular groups and community activities.
