As corona virus drags its heels, and limits any real chance of YTH opening anytime soon, the exterior restoration works are nearly 75% complete.
The clock tower roof has completely been re-slated, all the lead work has been renewed, the decorative lead finials have been re-instated, the louvre bell hatches have been refurbished and repainted. Finally, much of the damaged or missing sandstone masonry has been replaced.
It is starting to look absolutely stunning and the end result is going to be marvellous.
We can't wait for the scaffold to come down and for the restoration works to be fully re-instated.
