When we received the keys to the beautiful building in 2019, many of the areas of the Town Hall hadn't been touched for over 50 years, apart from an odd lick of paint here and there.
The Box Office was one of these spaces. An uninspiring space, which in a former life had been a rates office. It used to be a cold, long room that smelt like a school gym!
Due to the restrictions of working in Grade II listed building, I came up with a sympathetic scheme that could be altered in future years (if we wished) to enable the room to be used as Box Office in one half and a keg store for the new bar (directly above), whilst not effecting the original fabric of the building.
The end results are pleasing, practical and offer customers a suitable environment where they can buy tickets for future shows. I'm glad to report the smells have gone, and the Box Office is loved by everyone who visits.
